About the Day:
Our day began by checking the weather forecast. For weeks leading up to Kiera and Elliot’s wedding day it looked like it was going to pour. Rather than pouring rain we were thrilled to wake up and see huge rolling clouds against the Okanagan valley.
We arrived bright and early at the girls’ getting ready location: The Frank Venables Theatre. What a stunning open space we had to capture two reveals: with Kiera’s dad and her best girls.
Continuing on to the ceremony, the venues just got better and better. At Marron Valley Springs, between the stable, the pond, and the mountains in the distance, we were always finding new angles to capture their day from. In fact, all day we were taking pictures while pinching ourselves—doubting that this was real life.
Our two favourite elements:
- We loved the creativity and significance of planting a tree together during their ceremony.
- We are still recovering from the perfect lighting by the pond during the portrait session.
To the bride and groom:
Kiera and Elliot, we truly hope that your marriage goes the same way your wedding day did—not necessarily without hiccups (it did end up raining for about 10 minutes in total), but always focused on the beauty in the fine details. Thank you for allowing us to be a part of your day! May these pictures be a small reminder of your first day together as a married couple.
